Pork Tornado is:
Dan Archer (guitar):
Legendary in the Burlington music scene, Dan has been playing guitar since he was a kid.
In 1983 he opened a recording studio, Archer Studios, in the Burlington area. Phish’s album,
Lawn Boy was recorded there in 1989. A self-taught musician, he has had only one other job,
homogenizing rat brains in a toxicology lab in Albany, NY.
Jon Fishman (drums):
The shy, soft-spoken member of the ‘Tornado’, Jon ‘Fish’ Fishman never says no to a gig.
He also plays in another band called Phish.
Joe Moore (saxophone and vocals):
“Smoking Joe” has been on the music scene for some time now, working with such notables as Wilson Pickett, The Staples Singers,
Billy Stuart, Jimmy McGriff, Slim Harper, Zoot Wilson & The N-Zones, Archie Shepp, and Billy Bland. Joe has toured all over
Canada and the USA. He firmly believes that he’s the only soul brother he knows who plays a mean Irish penny whistle. He’s
currently with the Burlington-based X-Rays as well as moonlighting with his own group, the Jo-Mo-Fo.
Phil Abair (keyboards):
Phil has been in the music business twenty years as a performer, composer, and studio musician. He has performed as vocalist,
keyboard player, bass guitarist and guitarist in groups throughout the Northeast including The Abair Brothers Band, Tammy Fletcher &
the Disciples, Pork Tornado, Kip Meaker and The Dude of Life. He appears on the most recent Dude of Life CD and on Strangefolk’s
Weightless in Water. Phil released his own CD, The Century Turns, in 2000.
Aaron Hersey (bass):
Aaron is the second best bass player that he has ever heard. He will work for any one that will pay him.
